The executive arm of the European Union has announced that it is cracking down on art-trafficking that might help fund terrorist groups, reports Agence France-Presse.
Terrorist groups including the Islamic State have looted and damaged historic sites in Iraq and Syria. They then sell the artifacts to fund their operations, noted the European Commission in a release on Wednesday.
