The Taiwanese air force has chosen a European helicopter to meet its medium-lift helicopter requirement for search-and-rescue missions, reports Defense News.
Taipei ordered three EC 225 helicopters in December in a US$111 million deal, with options for a total of 20 aircraft.
The contract is expected to be signed in the next few days, according to a Taiwanese defense source.
The Eurocopter offering beat out a Sikorsky bid for the S-92.
