A European Union policing mission began in Kosovo on Tuesday, taking over the security job from the United Nations, Reuters reports.
A small contingent of European and U.S. police, customs agents, judges and prosecutors began their deployment in Mitrovica, security officials said.
The EULEX force will ultimately have about 1,900 personnel, said E.U. officials.
