The government of Ethiopia has offered to send peacekeepers to Sudan's region of Abyei, the BBC reports.
Ethiopians could be sent if both Juba and Khartoum make the request, said a government representative.
Officials said southern Sudan has accepted the offer for peacekeepers, while the north is said to be considering it.
