Defense Secretary Mark Esper says that the U.S. military is increasing its academic focus on China and its military, reports the South China Morning Post.
The National Defense University (NDU) has been instructed to devote 50 percent of its curriculum to China by 2021, Esper told the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., on Thursday.
The secretary also said that he has told individual services to make the Chinese military the pacing threat in its professional schools.
