Erdogan Plans ‘Safe Zone’ In Syria; Operation Seen Keeping ISIS, Kurds At Bay

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says the Turkish military has plans to establish a 1,930-square-mile (5,000-square-km) safe zone in Syria, reports Bloomberg News.

Ankara launched an offensive in Syria, dubbed Operation Euphrates Shield, on Aug. 24.

That campaign has already reportedly cleared "terrorist groups" from about 350 square miles (900 square km).
