Emphasis Placed On Counter-Insurgency Gear

The head of the Indian army said the Indian government is going to buy weapons and equipment that are suited for low-intensity conflicts, reports Defense News.
Gen. Deepak Kapoor said the equipment would be used in Jammu and Kashmir.
The army will focus on "counter-terrorist and counter-insurgency capabilities," he said.
The overall procurement of equipment related to low-intensity combat is being accelerated, according to Defense Ministry sources.
