The Brazilian air force has awarded aerospace conglomerate Embraer a contract to modernize dozens of attack aircraft, reports the Brazilian defense firm.
The award provides for the structural overhaul and repair and replacement of outdated equipment for 43 AMX fighters.
The deal is a follow-on to a 2003 contract with Embraer, which covered the upgrading of the aircraft's electronic systems.
