ELN Rebels, Government Agree To Cease-Fire, Starting Oct. 1

The Colombian government and negotiators for the National Liberation Army (ELN) guerrilla group have agreed to a bilateral cease-fire, reports Colombia Reports.
The ELN and Bogota announced on Monday that the truce would begin on Oct. 1.
The cease-fire is set to last until Jan. 12 and can be extended, said President Juan Manuel Santos in a televised address.
The announcement followed months of negotiations and came less than 48-hours ahead of a visit by Pope Francis. ...
