U.S. military leaders say that Afghanistan's new elite police force is suffering from the same problems as conventional police, including corruption and ineptitude, reports McClatchy Newspapers.
The Afghan National Civil Order Police (ANCOP) was deployed to the southern Helmand province as part of the U.S.-led offensive in Marjah. Officers in ANCOP have reportedly set up checkpoints to shake down locals and others have been discharged for using drugs, according to U.S....
