Electrical transmission towers and lines in central Iraq have come under an insurgent attack, Reuters reports.
Seven pylons were bombed Wednesday in Udhaim, northern Diyala province, a local electricity official said.
Udhaim was long a stronghold of Al-Qaida in Iraq.
Power to the town of Khalis and parts of Baghdad was completely shut down, the official said. No casualties were reported.
