Turkish military officials say Egypt has sent scores of troops to Syria to support the regime of Bashir Assad, reports the Anadolu Agency (Ankara).
Cairo may have deployed as many as 150 troops to Syria, according to unnamed Turkish military officials.
The Egyptian forces were deployed in the Khan al-Asal area of western Aleppo and in the city of Saraqib in southern Idlib province in coordination with the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the officials said.
