ECOWAS Puts Possible Military Intervention On Hold

The chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) says the organization will make no decision before Monday about forcibly removing Ivory Coast President Laurent Gbagbo from power, This Day (Lagos) reports.

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan made his comments last week, saying the group would wait until an ECOWAS fact-finding mission returns.
