East Africa To Benefit From E.U. Counterterrorism Training

The European Union is going to offer counterterrorism training to East African countries threatened by Islamist militants, reports the E.U. Observer.

A new program, which is to be implemented later this year or early in 2016, will cover Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, South Sudan, Sudan, Uganda and Yemen, the E.U. said last week.

The training program is expected to cost 11 million euros (US$12 million) over five years.
