Early-Warning Hawkeyes Face Upgrading

The Defense Ministry in Taiwan has sent two of four of the nation's E-2T Hawkeye early warning aircraft to the United States for modernization, reports the Taiwan News.
Under an October 2008 agreement, the U.S. will upgrade all four of Taiwan's E-2T aircraft to the E-2K configuration.
The modernization is scheduled to be completed in 2012 at a cost of US$175 million, Taiwanese officials said.
