EADS North America has announced that it will bid as a prime contractor in the U.S. Air Force's $35 billion KC-X tanker competition, Defense News reports.
A variant of the Airbus A330-based KC-45 tanker will be entered into the competition, said company officials.
EADS contrasted their product from the Boeing offering, which has never flown, saying the KC-45 has completed more than 500 hours of flight testing and passed more than 290,000 pounds of fuel to waiting fighters. ...
