In a test with the U.S. Army, a Lockheed Martin laser system has shot down multiple unmanned aerial vehicles, reports the defense firm.
During the trials in August with the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, the 30-kW Advanced Test High-Energy Asset (ATHENA) knocked down five Outlaw unmanned aerial vehicles at White Sands Missile Range, N.M.
