Dry Dock Work Continues For Pair Of Frigates

Two sister ships are in a San Diego dry dock for long-awaited maintenance, reports the Navy Times.
Repairs on the Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigates Curts and Vandegrift began in April at the General Dynamics NASSCO shipyard, said officials.
Seventeen weeks of maintenance, expected to cost $17 million, will allow the frigates to deploy one more time before the entire class is retired in 2017.
Twenty-eight ships remain in the class, says the Navy.
