Military police at a British base in Cyprus have been equipped with drones to combat the trapping of illegal songbirds, reports Agence France-Presse.

Millions of migratory birds use Cyprus as a stopping-off point during their spring migration from Africa and the Middle East to Europe. Trappers often operate in British military-controlled areas, including the Dhekelia base on Cyprus, close to the south coast resort of Larnaca.
