Drills Set With Japanese, S. Korean Navies

The Pentagon has announced that the U.S. Navy will take part in trilateral naval training with the Japanese and South Korean navies.

The June 21-22 drills in the waters south of the Korean peninsula is aimed at improving interoperability and communications among the three navies.

Such training will facilitate future cooperative disaster relief and maritime security missions, according to a Thursday release from the Dept. of Defense.
