The Chinese government has built or expanded dozens of high-security detention centers in Xinjiang province over the past year as part of its crack down on its Uighur Muslim minority, reports the Washington Post.
At least 60 detention facilities appear to have been newly built or expanded over the past year in Xinjiang, including one facility near the town of Kashgar that opened in January and can hold over 10,000 individuals, reported the Xinjiang Data Project.
