Dozens of people have reportedly been killed in a Burmese military operation after rebels took hostages on a ferry in the western Rakhine state, reports the Myanmar Times.
On Saturday, about 30 fighters from the Arakan Army (AA) boarded a ferry on the Mayu river with about 168 passengers.
The kidnappers took the hostages to a nearby forest and released about 110 people, mostly women and children.
