Reductions in the Dutch defense budget are forcing the Dutch air force to keep more of its F-16 fighters on the ground, reports defense-aerospace.com.
According to the Dutch military union, ACOM, around two-thirds of the 87 F-16s are grounded because they require maintenance.
The balance of the fleet is kept in flying condition by cannibalizing parts from other airplane, union officials said.
