Twelve National Guardsmen assigned to help protect the inauguration were sent home after background checks flagged potential issues, reports CNN.
The Army Guard personnel were removed after the government introduced a vetting process in part to identify troops with potential ties to extremist groups following the Jan. 6 riots at the Capitol.
