Doosan Gets Inside Track For New Air Defense System Program

The South Korean Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) has named Doosan DST as the preferred bidder in a program to develop a new air defense system, reports the Yonhap News Agency.

Doosan, the lead firm in a consortium, was the sole bidder for the project, which seeks to combine the 30-mm Biho gun and the portable Shingung missile.

The program is intended to boost air defense capabilities for mechanized units, according to the military.
