Turkey's first medium-altitude, long-endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has made its maiden flight, Defense News reports.
The 1,300-lb. Anka flew for 14 minutes on Dec. 31, said manufacturer Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI).
The Anka, which was unveiled last summer, has been in development since 2005, said TAI officials. It is designed to fly for 23 hours at 23,000 feet.
