The U.S. Dept. of Defense has acknowledged that it has started paying stipends to "moderate" rebel Syrians being trained to fight the Islamic State (ISIS), reports USA Today.
The training of the first group of 90 fighters began last month. The rebels are being paid $250 to $400 per month, depending on their skills, performance and leadership, according to a Pentagon spokeswoman.
