The South Korean Defense Ministry has relieved a two-star general of command after his unit failed to detect a North Korean man crossing the border, reports the Yonhap news agency (Seoul).
On Thursday, the ministry said Maj. Gen. Pyo Chang Soo, the commander of the 22nd Infantry Division in Goseong, had been removed from his post, reported the Stars and Stripes.
The division is responsible for security along the east coast border with the North.
