The U.S. Navy is still recovering artifacts from a Civil War-era ironclad at the bottom of the Savannah River in Georgia, reports WTOC (Savannah, Ga.).
All unexploded shells and cannon balls were recovered by Tuesday from the Georgia, a Confederate ironclad scuttled in 1864.
More than 150 cannon balls and shells were recovered by divers.
The U.S. Army Corp. of Engineers is trying to recover all four cannons. Some weigh more than 7,000 pounds and are packed with explosives,...
