An Afghan army sergeant shot and killed two U.S. trainers Tuesday during a marksmanship exercise near the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif, the New York Times reports. The Afghan was then killed.
The Afghan Defense Ministry released a statement indictaing that the soldier got into an argument with the U.S. trainers. Another Afghan died in the crossfire.
A NATO soldier was also wounded in the incident at Camp Shaheen, the officials said.
