About 20,000 residents have been evacuated from the German city of Cologne following the discovery of a 1,000-kg (2,204-lb) bomb left from World War II, reports the Local (Germany).
Evacuations took place in the Riehl and Mulheim districts on Wednesday. Nearby schools and a zoo were closed, and a nursing home was evacuated.
