Disarmament Program With Kenya Aims At Rustlers

Uganda and Kenya have both agreed to a cross-border disarmament program in the neighboring districts of Karamoja in Uganda and North Pokot in Kenya, reports the Daily Monitor (Kampala).

The new program aims to halt the illegal use of firearms among cattle thieves.

Rustling has hindered friendly relations between the neighbors, said Joshua Ejodeh, the Kenyan assistant minister in charge of internal security and provincial administration.
