Devlin Takes Over As Army Chief

The new head of the Canadian army assumed command on Monday, reports the Sault Star (Ontario).

Lt. Gen. Peter Devlin replaces Gen. Andrew Leslie, who headed the army since 2006.

Devlin served with the U.S. Army in Iraq as an exchange officer in 2006 and has been the deputy commander of Canadian forces in Afghanistan since August 2008.

Leslie is taking over the role of chief of transformation of the military, reported the CBC.
