Destroyers Seen Keeping Eye On N. Korea; Seoul Doesn't Object

A top South Korean official says the government in Seoul will not offer any opposition to a Japanese plan to deploy Aegis-equipped destroyers to the Yellow Sea, reports the Chosun Ilbo (South Korea).

The Japanese government has indicated that the goal of the deployment is to monitor North Korean missile activity.

Tokyo remains sensitive to missile launches from North Korea since such rockets have overflown its territory.
