Deputy Marine Commander Gets Top Job; New Military Leaders To Be Named After Election

The South Korean government has named a new commander of the marine corps, reports the Yonhap news agency (Seoul).
Maj. Gen. Jun Jin Goo, currently the deputy commander of the marines, has been promoted to lieutenant general and will assume his new duties later this week, according to the South Korean Ministry of Defense.
He succeeds Lt. Gen. Lee Sang Hoon, whose two-year term ends on Thursday.
