The South African air force has taken delivery of its fifth dual-seat Saab Gripen fighter, Frontier India Strategic & Defense reports.
South Africa has ordered nine dual-seat aircraft as well as 17 single-seaters.
Saab is also providing training for South African pilots and maintenance technicians, mission simulators, a computer-based training system and an extensive logistics support package.
The order, placed in December of 1999, is expected to be completed by 2012.
