Russia expects to record a large increase in its defense spending in 2011, Defense News reports.
About US$63.4 billion -- 19 percent of the national budget -- will be spent on defense, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said.
The Kremlin previously planned to spend US$49.4 billion on defense in 2011. The 2010 defense budget is set at $41.5 billion.
