Defense Secretary Announces Contract To Purchase Bomb Disposal Robots For Army

British Defense Secretary Michael Fallon has announced the awarding of a contract to Harris Corp. in the U.S. for dozens of bomb disposal robots for the British army, reports the U.K. Ministry of Defense.

The deal, worth up to 55 million pounds (US$73 million), covers 56 Harris T7 robots.

Following initial 4 million pound (US$5.3 million) demonstration phase, the robots will be purchased from Harris under the Defense Ministry's Project Starter for the British army.
