New Zealand's recently completed defense review calls for cuts of up to NZ$400 million (US$307 million), reports the Dominion Post (Wellington).
According to the white paper, released Tuesday, the Linton army camp will be be disbanded and Waiouru will be downgraded and its troops moved to a new combined Central North Island headquarters at Ohakea air force base.
The Trentham base may also be affected by plans to consolidate the military's 11 active installations.
