Defense Ministry Sees Expansion Of Military Volunteers

The Russian Defense Ministry has plans for significant growth in the number of its volunteer troops in the armed forces, reports Interfax-AVN.
The military currently has about 150,000 contract servicemembers, said Defense Minsiter Anatoly Serdyukov.
This number is expected to grow to 200,000-250,000, the minister said.
