The Russian Defense Ministry has rejected cost-saving proposals that would reduce the military by up to 100,000 personnel, reports Reuters.
On Tuesday, the Izvestia newspaper reported that the ministry had rejected a proposal from the finance ministry to cut personnel by about 10 percent.
Under that plan, the number of military billets would be dramatically reduced, but some officers would be given civilian posts.
Similar measures adopted in the past had resulted in "inefficiency"...
