The German Defense Ministry has apparently rejected a French offer for used maritime patrol aircraft to fill a projected capability gap, reports Defense News.
The German navy is looking to acquire new patrol aircraft to replace aging P-3 Orion planes by 2025. A planned joint program with France to develop a new maritime patrol capability is not expected to be fielded before 2035.
