Defense Ministry Places Order For QinetiQ Gunfire Detectors

The French Ministry of Defense has ordered a batch of shoulder-mounted gunfire detectors from QinetiQ North America, reports Defense News.

In a statement, QinetiQ said the company is supplying an initial order for 250 shoulder-worn acoustic targeting systems (SWATS).

QinetiQ has sold more than 17,500 SWATS to the U.S. Army for deployment, but this is the first time a European military has acquired anything other than small test quantities, said company officials.
