Latvia's Defense Ministry is considering sending troops to the U.S.-led coalition against the Islamic State, reports Russia's Sputnik news agency.
Troops may be sent to Iraq to help train local units, said a ministry spokesman on Monday.
There will be no combat role for the troops, said the spokesman.
Estonia, another Baltic state, announced plans last week to join the coalition.
