Defense Ministry, Miffed Over Costs, Delays Orders For Borei-Class Subs

The Russian Defense Ministry says it is postponing further orders for nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines due to ongoing price disagreements with the builder, reports RIA Novosti.
The United Shipbuilding Corp. has set the price for Borei-class subs at about US$876 million each, or about US$4.4 billion the entire program, reported the Kommersant business daily.
Defense procurement plans call for the delivery of at least 10 Borei-class boats through 2020.
