The Russian Defense Ministry has completed its move from logistics regiments to brigades, reports Interfax-AVN.
Each military district will have at least two brigades by Dec. 1, said Deputy Defense Minister Col. Gen. Dmitry Bulgakov.
A total of 10 such brigades will be created, one for each joint army, according to Bulgakov.
The change was instituted to make a transition from a multi-level control system. Each unit will be assigned to a specific territory, he said.
