Defense Ministry Itemizes 6.9 Percent Budget Boost

The South Korean Defense Ministry has released more details of its proposed defense budget that seeks to boost capabilities against attacks from North Korea, reports the Yonhap News Agency.
The draft US$26.1 billion budget for 2011 is 6.9 percent larger than this year's total.
More than a third of the planned increase is allocated to programs for the acquisition of surveillance aircraft to detect short-range missiles and submarines, according to the ministry.
