Russia's Defense Ministry expects to build more than 100 facilities in the Arctic region over the course of 2017, reports Tass (Russia).
The facilities will be on Arctic bases on the Franz Josef Land archipelago, Novaya Zemlya archipelago, Sredny Island, Cape Schmidt, Wrangel Island and Kotelny Island, said a statement released by the ministry on Wednesday.
