Defense Minister Jorge Taiana and top Argentinean naval officers visited Europe last week to discuss a possible submarine procurement with French and German firms, reports Mercopress (Uruguay).
The Argentinean navy has been without a submarine capability since the San Juan sank in the Atlantic Ocean in 2017 due to faulty maintenance, killing all 44 crewmembers onboard.
