Turkey will receive two AH-1W Super Cobra attack helicopters from the United States to use against Kurdish separatists, Defense News reports.
Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul said he hopes to get the gunships by 2011, if not earlier.
According to Turkey's Zaman newspaper, Ankara sought nine helicopters, but the U.S. Congress only approved the sale of two.
The Turkish army currently has a fleet of six Super Cobras.
